Pap smear

Pap smearscreening is one part of looking after your health.

Every woman's experience of cervical screening is different. For some it's a short, ordinary appointment. For others it's the one that keeps getting postponed.

The goal isn't to do more tests. It's to do the right tests at the right time.

Dr Kavina

Perhaps it's been on your list for a while.

  • 01Perhaps you've been meaning to book it for a year, or longer
  • 02Maybe the idea of the examination itself puts you off
  • 03Perhaps you'd simply rather have this conversation with a female doctor
  • 04Or maybe you're simply wondering, “Am I due, and what is the test actually for?”
“Every woman is different. The right screening depends on your age, medical history, family history, symptoms, and previous test results.”

We honour where you are

Some women come in exactly on schedule.

Others haven't had a screening in years, or have never had one at all.

You may know when you were last screened.

You may not.

There is no expectation that you should already know when you're due.

Our role isn't to tell you what you should have done sooner.

It's to understand where you're starting from, explain what the test looks at and help you decide what happens next.

If you'd rather talk it through first and have the screening another day, that's okay too.

Understanding brings confidence

Before anything happens, we'll talk through what the test involves:

01

What cervical screening looks for, and what it doesn't

02

The difference between a Pap smear and an HPV test, and which applies to you

03

What the recommended screening interval is for your age, per Singapore guidelines

04

How your medical history, family history and previous results change that interval

05

What the examination itself involves, step by step, before it begins

06

What happens if a result comes back needing a closer look

Your goals matter

Our goal isn't to do more tests.

It's to recommend the right tests at the right time.

What matters to you may be quite simple.

You may want to have a screening you've been putting off.

You may want to understand a previous result.

Or you may only want to know when you're next due.

Whatever brings you in, we'll take the time to understand what matters to you.

You were never meant to navigate this alone

Health is deeply personal.

But it should never feel lonely.

As BloomHealth grows, our Bloom Circles will create opportunities for women to learn together, support one another and realise they are not alone.

How BloomHealth can support you

Your consultation may include:

01

A conversation about your screening history and any symptoms you have noticed

02

Review of your medical, menstrual and family history

03

Cervical screening, taken during the same appointment where you are comfortable to proceed

04

An explanation of your results in plain language once they return

05

A clear record of when your next screening is due

06

Referral onward where a result needs specialist assessment

Where our care ends, said plainly

Dr Kavina is a female GP.

At BloomHealth, we can carry out cervical screening and explain the result.

The test looks for changes in cervical cells.

If your result needs a closer look, we'll explain that clearly and refer you to a specialist for assessment.

Colposcopy and specialist procedures sit outside what we do here.

Our hope is that you'll leave understanding your result and knowing what the next step is, whether that's a referral or simply a date in the calendar.

Consultation fees

Initial ConsultationS$120
Planned Follow-up ReviewS$90

Laboratory processing of the screening sample is billed separately. A planned follow-up review applies to a scheduled review of the same concern, including going through your results. If a new or unrelated concern comes up, or a fuller reassessment is needed, that visit is booked as a new initial consultation.

Our philosophy

At BloomHealth, we believe the best kind of healthcare empowers people to become better versions of themselves.

By honouring where you are today, helping you understand your health and supporting you with evidence-based care, our hope is that you'll leave every consultation feeling more informed, more confident and more empowered to make decisions that are right for you.

Because healthcare isn't just about treating symptoms.

It's about helping people navigate life's transitions with clarity, confidence and compassion.
